Black & White Sound of Jazz

This project is an 8-page zine created entirely in Adobe Photoshop, exploring storytelling through image manipulation alone. The objective was to evoke a distinct mood and narrative without the use of text, relying solely on visual composition.

Inspired by the jazz scene of the 1950s, the piece reflects the contrast between historically black-and-white imagery and the vibrant, dynamic energy of the music itself. To convey this, I incorporated elements of cubism and abstract art, fragmenting and reinterpreting forms to visually translate sound into movement and rhythm. The result is a composition that brings life and intensity to the black and white imagery, capturing the spirit of jazz in visual means alone.
